Scientist Part 1

The scientist considered his research to be of paramount importance. His daily schedule went something like research, research, research, study, understand, and finally eat and sleep if he finds time.He was working day in and day out. His life revolved around his lab.Nobody ever knew of the Scientist outside the lab. He was what he was.His research defined him. Outside of his work he was nothing. But there was no reason why he should be associated with anything other than his experiments and labs.

As time went by the scientist forgot about himself. He lost touch with others and generally avoided everybody. He had minimal contact with the outside world.

And then came the huge breakthrough. He published his findings.Awards and accolades came searching for him. Money and fame had found their new abode.

And then he finally took a break. He left the lab and he reached a hill station. Watching the serene calm snow capped mountains he thought about himself. He realized he had no clue who he was. A sudden bout of hopelessness hit him. He wondered if he did right by doing what he did.

He didn’t have any answers. He asked himself if it was really worth it. He wondered what made the life worth living. He started walking. No one ever heard of him again. Search parties found a well preserved albeit frozen human body after some days.
